In the ghetto...

The "ghetto fix" side of the project is still going strong. Tom's Brains was overheating a couple of days ago, which finally gave me a use for the old NVIDIA graphics card passive cooler I've been trying to find a use for. 10 min with pliers and a hammer later and I've got effective passive cooling.
Testing out my balance charging theory was an exercise in "how the fuck can I get this connected without tearing it all apart. Mismatched cable diameter and lengths everywhere. Resistance balance? We don't need no stinking resistance balance!
Not in Test anyway.
The Prod rewire is a little kinder and a lot neater.
This weekend's AliExpress sale resulted in a massive hole in my credit card and the promises of many packages on my doorstep over the next month or two. I have some better tools coming, data logging kit, plus a lot of upgrades. I'll lose some ghetto chic, but I can't justify spending half an hour making dodgy connectors when ready-made cost 10-30c. A lot of it is for the spin-offs: Project Dick Grayson and Project Harry Hart. More on those when they get up and running tho...
Mikee Elliott This has been an excellent read and follow series, thankyou. I look forward to instalments as they're authored.

Peter Raven That's really gratifying, thank you. It's been an incredibly interesting learning experience, with lots or little, rewarding milestones. There were a lot of little adventures I didn't have time to mention, like managing to fit 3 x salvaged panels in the back of an RS265. Will try for a "flashback episode" soon...

GPU heat sinks aren't pretty, but the DO cool the ol' PWM controller down some, plus they were free...

This method of making a high-current connection is not recommended, but it DOES work in a pinch.

This is even less recommended. Held for a while, tho.
